Here I go again....

Well, I finally managed to get my act together and listed a few items on eBay.

The auctions start at 9:00 p.m. tonight, but for those of you who can't wait, there's a BIN of two paper lantern/treat containers... I think they turned out pretty nice.

I want to paint it black!

As most of you know I spent the majority of last week purging my basement of it's nasty habit... but to break up the monotony of it all I decided to re-vamp a very shoddy built-in cabinet that became an eyesore with it's grungy off white paint and ugly wood panelling.

Hopefully, it looks better now... at the very least it's found a purpose!

My basement has bulimia

It's March break, both my son and husband are home for the week and although you may think we're having a nice vacation you'd be sorely mistaken.

Time off for Brian (my husband) means, it's time we get some stuff done. Naturally, we break out a notepad and start jotting down items for the "to do" list. It means Lori (that would be me) pulls herself away from the computer long enough to help with those pesky tasks. It also means Bailey (our son) helps for five minutes and then wanders away to play wii or watch tv .

The road, as you know is paved with good intentions (surely I'm not the only one who has good intentions?) Anyway, it seems that every damn year I find myself back in the basement... this time it's been for three days.
Admittedly... not for a full 8 hours at a time, but long enough to get sick of being down in that "pit of despair."

I'm a pack rat, I'll admit it (embarrassing, though it truly is!) My whole family hoards stuff like there's no tomorrow... and that's where the real problem started. Like most problems or illness it started out small, treatable and then within one year it's mutated into a full blown disease.

That's why I've come to the conclusion that my basement has BULIMIA. Why oh why does it continually binge and then need to be purged every single year? The boxes of stuff come in, but nothing "really" wants to leave. I break apart shipping boxes and take them out for recycling (purge)... ah, but my sister brings me more boxes to ship off my pieces (surprise binge). I go to the store and buy a few holiday themed odds & ends and then mysteriously they seem to multiply (nasty binging). When it's time to store those seasonal odds & ends away, I don't have enough storage bins... so I buy more ("bin"-ging again!)

The cure seems so simple, especially if I try one of Peter Walsh's (he was on Clean Sweep) mantras: "One in, one out!" Hmmm... now that I think about it, Peter seems to adore storage bins! Maybe that's his disease?!?
Whatever, I can't worry about Peter and his problems. All I know is that it may take me a few more doses of "anti-bin-otics" to really nip my illness in the bud.... ahem, I mean my basement of its bulimia.

Oh my, a couple of blog awards

Firstly, thank you to Lyndy Ward of TodaysGold for giving me these two awards.

I'm a little late in posting them... but better late than never. Isn't that what they say?

Along with the one award I'm supposed to post 5 personal addictions: YIKES!! That's kind of scary!

1.) Coffee: I need it, I LOVE it, I drink it from morning to night!

2.) Vintage Crepe Paper: I simply cannot get enough of it. I love the texture, appearance and strength of it. If you have extra... send some my way. SERIOUSLY!

3.) Glitter: I hoard it, but rarely use it. It's SO pretty to look at and that makes it hard for me to use.

4.) Craft supplies: I have so many that I cannot possibly use them all in this lifetime. Nevermind the fact that sometimes... I just can't find what I'm looking for.

5.) I like desserts: Enough said?

Oh no... two days in a row

I'll have to shoot and edit more pics before I can get anything listed on eBay, but that may take me a few more days... so much to do, so little time! Yikes!! ~ Lori

Cleaning out the cobwebs... literally

Admittedly, I've been missing in action lately. Too much to do and not enough hours in the day. Makes me wonder who doesn't feel that time is passing them by?

I've been busy and I've been ill with a serious ear infection in February that left me without much in the way of hearing in my left ear for almost the entire month.

Aside from the above, I am trying to get some stuff out of the way so that I can get back to it. Currently working hard to get myself organized (hope I'm not kidding myself, that this will be the year!) I want so badly to get my home and work space(s) cleaned up and ready to continue with the new works I have in progress. I HATE mess... I work in it, but I hate it... it bogs me down.

At the end of the day, (although today isn't over yet) I do have something new to show and tell... go figure?
Above you'll see a pic of what I've been trying to get back to. Some rather large Jack o' lanterns, a few medium sized ones and some mini's that will either be sold as ornaments or small candy containers. Hopefully, I'll have a few items ready for eBay and Etsy within the next week or two.
