W. I. P. (days 4 and 5)

Ignore the shine... I don't know what's up with that at all.
(I do not use gloss finishes.)

I didn't post last night, mostly because yesterday was kind of a slacker day for me and frankly on Thursday evenings, I'm all about what's on tv... Survivor, Trump and LOST (times 2 episodes.)

So, I decided to combine days 4 and 5 together and I am happy to announce that my pieces are done!

WAIT, let me re-phrase that... they are mostly done. I have yet to finish the black cat and witch bobble heads and yes indeedy I still need to make bodies for the floating heads, but other than those (minor-ish) details the finished pieces will be on auction soon.

Also wanted to say thanks so much to everyone who commented and followed along in my progress, the next pics you'll see will be the fancier version... with closeups, angles and GOOD lighting!

The paper inserts are in place. Still no hand painted facial details, but at least most of the ornaments received their chenille limbs (now they need their crepe fringe collars.)

Oh, and some of the candy containers/lanterns received their tissue paper fringe, but they still need their handles.

What's with the skellies, witches and cat's heads you may be asking? Well... I started more bobble heads and I'm not happy with those bodies, so they will need new ones.

In the wake of the eBay strike, there comes a "wicked" new site

Last week I was undecided about taking part in the strike against eBay.

In retrospect I guess I had already chosen to list my items for sale on Etsy and my second blog in order to show my support for all the small artistic sellers out there like myself.

I won't get into all the details, because another blogger has written about the strike, far better than I ever could.

For those of you who are trying to find another venue to sell your art, I am pleased to tell you that there is a new auction site available.

It's a site set up for Arts and Crafts. There are currently close to 300 artists registered with ArtACA on Yahoo, and I'm pretty sure most of them came from eBay. There are 200 art auctions listed on the auction site at the moment. Though I don't plan on dumping eBay entirely, I too will be listing some new work soon on Art and Craft Auctions.

A vintage Valentine card from my Grandpa to my Nanny

I’m not a romantic per se and for the most part to me; Valentine's is just another day.

I’m not interested in the history of how this holiday came to be; but I do count myself lucky to have a husband who loves me.

And a son who kisses me on the cheek just to say, “I love you Mom”... now that makes my day!
