I have a passion for the holidays. My favourite one of all is pretty obvious if you take a quick peek at my blog.
Since February of this year I have been playing with my graphics program and designing various things. My printed designs can be purchased at Spoonflower (as fabric, wallpaper, gift wrap and as decals.) My papier mache can be found on Etsy under the ID: RetroRudolphs.
I found this little gem by looking at one of my favourite blogs. Now me, being a rather curious type of gal I just had to click on the link and find out how my blog ranks when it comes to readability or lack thereof.
To answer your question... no, I don't consider my to be a genius when it comes to witty banter on my blog or any other area for that matter. But I must say it did make me feel good to see “genius”… when I was half expecting to see a dunce cap!
You know you want to try it out too. Go ahead... just click on the brain, or didn't you notice that?
A HUGE thanks to the lovely and talented Kim Hardt, of Kim Hardt Originals for bestowing this award upon me... you are far too kind, and I mean that!!!
This little award is called The Daily Dose - and here is all the important info to tell you what it is about and where it came from. This is a tribute to all the blogs that you've discovered that you can't possibly live without. They make you laugh, cry, think and feel connected every time you read a post. They give you a thrill as you see them loading into your browser and you get an equally satisfying thrill when you see that they have commented on your blog". From Xandra: creator, The Daily Dose Award.
I would proudly like to Present this "Daily Dose" award to the following: Carolee, Jen, Nina and Johanna.
I can't remember what day it was our paths crossed on eBay, and I guess it doesn't really matter... I'm just glad they did!
We are both dreadful when it comes to emailing each other and perhaps don't do it as much as we should. We've had our share of ups and downs this past year too... but our friendship continues to grow through the good and not so good.
We have several things in common: We both love Holidays and Halloween, have very similar tastes when it comes to collecting, you married a really great german guy and so did I. The list goes on...
Perhaps the one thing you don't really know about me is how thankful I am for your friendship or how you constantly inspire me to become a better artist and a better friend. You sent me these pictures and have collected so many beautiful pieces of art... I am honoured that you chose to collect some of mine.
Thank you Cindy from the bottom of my heart... good friends (no matter the distance) are hard to come by!
2007 is over, and with all that it brought I'm sad to see it go.
All things considered it was a wonderful year! I had a very successful year on ebay thanks to all the amazing buyers I crossed paths with. I made new friends in EHAG and had a chance to meet a few (in real life) this past October. Hopefully in 2008, I will get to see them again and perhaps even meet a few more along the way.
So... what's up with all these pics you ask?
Okay, I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions... mostly because I don't like to make a promise I can't keep. When I look back at last year's goal list I did manage to meet one. That goal was to become more organized. As luck would have it, (LOL... luck and a really thoughtful husband) I received my Christmas gifts a little early and began the sorting process.
I don't have a formal studio, my workspace for the most part is our dining room. WARNING: You are about to see a few pictures of my workspace posted below (laugh if you will) it's NOT pretty, but... it's pretty well organized. I don't have anything really pretty to look at while I'm working, but... if I turn around I can see a cabinet full of the pretty things I like to collect (it's the bottom pic) and yes, some of my work is in there too. Happy New Year to you all!!
