I have a passion for the holidays. My favourite one of all is pretty obvious if you take a quick peek at my blog.
Since February of this year I have been playing with my graphics program and designing various things. My printed designs can be purchased at Spoonflower (as fabric, wallpaper, gift wrap and as decals.) My papier mache can be found on Etsy under the ID: RetroRudolphs.
Of course I'm a fan... how could I not be? I can't count the number of times I've watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer since I was a kid, but I can tell you with certainty... it would NOT be Christmas in our house without it!
Unfortunately, Bailey will have to watch the dvd this year, because he was too busy playing the other night and missed seeing it on tv. I'll have to sit down with him and remind him about how he referred to Yukon Cornelius as "Kukon" lol!
Anyway, a few years back my sister Melissa, friends Ann Marie, Johhny, Suzie and I were madly buying up Rudolph action figures made by Playing Mantis/Memory Lane. The hardest and most coveted piece for us to come by was Santa's sleigh with all the reindeer and of course Rudolph leading the way.
After the first buying frenzy of 2001, Johnny sat down and figured out how we could cut and carve solid core styrofoam insulation. In turn we all went to town building whatever scenery pieces our hearts desired. Thankfully, Melissa and I collected almost every piece made before production ended in 2004. (We're missing the flocked Rudolph and Clarice figures.)
To this day my scene remains unfinished. I still need to sprinkle Bumble's cave and a few of the icebergs with more mica. Bailey's getting pretty crafty, so perhaps this summer I'll have my own little elf help me finish it once and for all. Well... I can dream can't I?
